Deep Water was built in a single session that started at midnight and ended when the sun came up. The piano melody came first — simple, almost naive, the kind of thing you play when you're not trying to write a song. Then the log drum groove arrived and everything clicked. This track is about the feeling of being fully present in a moment, completely absorbed, almost drowning in it.
